Legendary rock icons, The Rolling Stones, have dropped some exciting news for their fans worldwide.
On September 4th, the revered rock ensemble declared the forthcoming launch of ‘Hackney Diamonds’, marking their first collection of original tunes since their 2005 hit ‘A Bigger Bang’. The Stones have planned an exclusive revelation of more album specifics set for the Hackney region in East London, scheduled for September 6th. This event will see the band’s iconic figures – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ron Wood, having a sit-down with the acclaimed host of the ‘Tonight Show’, Jimmy Fallon. Fans can catch this special occasion live on the official Rolling Stones YouTube channel.
The Stones conveyed in an official press release, “Though rooted in Hackney, ‘Hackney Diamonds’ is a worldwide spectacle we are thrilled to broadcast to our global audience via YouTube.”
The playful promotional stunt saw a teaser featuring Fallon casually enjoying some Stones tracks. His moment is interrupted by a ring from the exclusive “Stones phone”, graced with the band’s renowned emblem. This call, intriguingly ambiguous, hinted at the imminent YouTube live stream event.
The group gave a sneak peek into a potential track, rumored to be named “Don’t Get Angry With Me” or simply “Angry”. They took a humorous approach, redirecting fans to a malfunctioning website named dontgetangrywithme.com. However, persistent fans cracked the code, managing to hear a brief 15-second audio clip.
The Rolling Stones have always made waves in the music charts. Their ‘A Bigger Bang’ expedition is currently at seventh place on Billboard’s elite list of top 10 tours, boasting a whopping $558 million in earnings from an impressive 111 shows. Post this colossal success, 2016 witnessed them paying homage to blues legends with their cover album ‘Blue & Lonesome’, showcasing tracks from legendary artists like Jimmy Reed and Howlin’ Wolf.
‘Hackney Diamonds’ is extra special as it will be the first venture since the unfortunate passing of the foundational member, Charlie Watts in 2021. With Steve Jordan now on the drums, the Stones are marching on with their timeless music legacy.
