Look, we’ll never get tired of saying it: The Cure refuses to fade into the background. While half the music industry is trying to squeeze TikTok fame out of 12-second jingles, Robert Smith is still out here writing full albums, topping charts, and planning massive outdoor tours like it’s still the damn ’80s.
The Cure just announced a run of U.K. and Ireland dates for summer 2026, supporting their 2024 LP Songs of a Lost World—the album that went straight to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart and hit No. 4 on the Billboard 200, their highest U.S. charting since Wish in 1992. Not bad for a band whose eyeliner has seen more world tours than most Gen Z artists have seen dental checkups.
Here’s the rundown:
- June 26 – Dublin @ Marlay Park
- June 28 – Belfast @ Belsonic, Ormeau Park
- Aug. 21 – Manchester @ Wythenshawe Park
- Aug. 23 – Edinburgh @ Summer Sessions, Royal Highland Showgrounds
Support comes from an indie-rock Avengers lineup including Mogwai, The Twilight Sad, Slowdive, Just Mustard, Stella and the Dreaming, and The Slow Readers Club. Translation: bring extra tissues, because you’re going to cry stylishly in public.
Let’s not forget: The Cure’s latest record also owned five Billboard sub-charts including Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Vinyl Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales. Robert Smith himself called the fan reaction “genuinely heartwarming” — which is Robert-speak for “holy hell, people still care.”
And if you somehow missed it: Smith joined Olivia Rodrigo at Glastonbury, turning “Friday I’m In Love” into a cross-generational anthem and proving that the man is still a hero for emo kids of every age.
So, will The Cure ever retire? Who knows. They’ve been soundtracking heartbreak and eyeliner smudges for decades, and every time we think they’re about to hang it up, they drop another album and headline another festival. Do yourself a favor — stop what you’re doing, buy the tickets, and see them before they decide to call it quits (which they probably won’t, but don’t risk it).
📲 And while you’re planning your summer tour dates, don’t forget to download the Static Live Music Calendar App — serving Daytona Beach, New Smyrna, Flagler, Ormond, and soon coming to more cities. Because live music isn’t dead, and neither are The Cure.
