Snoop Dogg Just Took 4/20 Higher Than Ever With ‘Last Dance With Mary Jane’
Because dropping a new track on 4/20 wasn’t iconic enough, Snoop Dogg went full blunt-force legend and delivered a music video that’s part tribute, part fever dream, and 100% THC-infused mayhem.
“Last Dance With Mary Jane,” the latest single off his Missionary album, is a hazy homage to Snoop’s lifelong relationship with his one true ride-or-die: cannabis. Sampling Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ stone-cold classic “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” the track brings together an unlikely trio—Snoop, Jelly Roll, and the late great Tom Petty—for a psychedelic celebration of the green goddess.
And the video? Oh man. Directed by Dave Meyers (you know, the guy behind almost every trippy music video that ever lived), it features everything from Snoop getting grim news from a cartoonish doctor to rolling through the clouds with Tupac and chilling with a hologram-style Petty as they croon through the haze. Not to be outdone, Jelly Roll pulls up with the kind of over-the-top, neon-soaked energy only he can deliver.
In classic Snoop fashion, the video toes the line between deep reflection and absolute absurdity. It’s a dreamlike final toke with Mary Jane, layered in nostalgia, humor, and a heavy cloud of smoke. And let’s be real—nobody makes mourning a weed breakup look this smooth.
Earlier on 4/20, Uncle Snoop even got in on the meme action, reposting a now-viral pic of him dressed as the Easter Bunny with the caption: “when 4/20 lands on Easter Sunday.” Because of course he did.
This track slaps, the visuals hit hard, and it’s another reminder that Snoop Dogg is the forever king of reefer royalty.
