Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, famously known as P Diddy, is currently embroiled in controversy following a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie. The lawsuit alleges that Combs subjected Cassie to over a decade of control, abuse, and forced sexual encounters with multiple male prostitutes.
The relationship, which began in 2005 and ended in 2018, is now under scrutiny as Cassie claims Combs forced his way into her home and raped her shortly before their split. Now 54, Diddy has categorically denied all allegations, describing them as ‘offensive and outrageous.’
Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, expressed in the legal documents filed in Manhattan’s Federal District Court, “After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to share my story. It’s time to speak up for myself and for other women facing violence and abuse in their relationships.”
The lawsuit details shocking claims of sexual trafficking by Combs, alleging that Cassie was forced into sexual encounters with male prostitutes to satisfy Combs’s voyeuristic tendencies. These incidents reportedly occurred in hotels and at Combs’s home, where Cassie described the experiences as ‘horrific encounters,’ often requiring her to use drugs to dissociate from the traumatic events.
Cassie also recounted an incident in 2016 where an inebriated Combs punched her, resulting in a black eye. Attempts to leave were met with violence, as Combs reportedly threw glass vases at her in a hotel hallway. The lawsuit suggests Combs paid the hotel $50,000 for security footage of the incident.
Further allegations in the lawsuit include Combs’s manipulation over Cassie’s personal and professional life. He allegedly threatened to suppress her music career and had control over her finances, including her car and apartment.
Cassie is seeking unspecified damages under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law allowing individuals to file claims beyond the statute of limitations. The lawsuit states, “With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, this was my opportunity to voice the trauma I have experienced and will be recovering from for the rest of my life.”
Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, responded, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these allegations. This is nothing more than a rejected blackmail attempt, now turned into an unfounded lawsuit seeking a payday.”
