Perry Farrell is reigniting the spark of Porno For Pyros. The renowned Jane’s Addiction vocalist and the mastermind behind Lollapalooza disclosed on July 11 that his alternative rock venture is reconvening for their first tour in two and a half decades, named “Horns, Thorns En Halos.”
This 21-event journey not only celebrates their three decades of musical legacy but is set to commence on October 8 at Hard Rock Live Sacramento in Wheatland, CA, concluding at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX on November 20. Following their reunion shows last year, including a memorable Los Angeles performance, the upcoming Live Nation-backed tour promises to be monumental. The prior gathering saw Farrell jamming with familiar faces: drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bass player Martyn LeNoble.
Besides their remarkable appearances at last year’s Welcome to Rockville, Lollapalooza festivals, and Chicago’s Metro club, there’s buzz about the band dedicating time in the studio, hinting at a potential album release later this year.
Founded post-Jane’s Addiction in 1992, PFP blessed fans with two iconic albums, their eponymous 1993 release and 1996’s “Good God’s Urge”. Their mesmerizing tracks “Pets” and “Tahitian Moon” are still fresh in the minds of many. After a pause in their journey in 1998, the ensemble had brief comebacks in 2009 and 2020, the latter coinciding with the virtual Lollapalooza during the pandemic.
