In anticipation of their 30th anniversary, iconic rock band Porno for Pyros has announced a postponement of their highly-awaited reunion tour, initially slated to commence on Oct. 8.
The band, led by the charismatic Perry Farrell, expressed gratitude for the enduring support from their fanbase. They shared on Instagram, “Amidst the buzz of getting back on the road, we’ve been crafting new songs in the studio. We had hoped to present these fresh tunes during the tour. But aligning the two has proven a tad challenging.”
Hence, the decision to delay the tour was made, ensuring fans would first get acquainted with their latest tracks. “Hang tight, as the new beats will reach your ears soon. Stay tuned for the revised tour dates. We promise it’ll be worth the wait,” the band’s statement further elaborated.
Back in July, Farrell had teased fans about the reunion tour, aptly titled “Horns, Thorns En Halos,” marking a 25-year hiatus since their last tour. The journey was set to span 21 shows from October to November.
Established post the hiatus of Jane’s Addiction in 1992, Porno for Pyros quickly gained acclaim with hits like “Pets” from their debut album and “Tahitian Moon” from their 1996 release, Good God’s Urge. While they took a break in 1998, there have been sporadic reunions, notably for Farrell’s 50th birthday bash in 2009 and a virtual performance for 2020’s Lollapalooza.
