In a delightful surprise for fans, Morgan Wallen commemorated the first anniversary of his acclaimed album ‘One Thing at a Time’ by releasing ‘Abbey Road Sessions,’ a special compilation of seven live tracks recorded at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London.
This digital release highlights Wallen’s continuing dominance on the charts, as ‘One Thing at a Time’ has impressively tied with Garth Brooks’ ‘Ropin’ the Wind’ for the title of most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart by a country album. Currently, it ranks second on the chart as of the week ending February 29.
The ‘Abbey Road Sessions’ features Wallen’s live renditions of five beloved tracks from ‘One Thing at a Time,’ introducing fans to “Lies Lies Lies,” an unreleased gem, and a heartfelt cover of Nothing But Thieves’ “Graveyard Whistling.” Recorded on December 5, 2023, in Studio Two — the same space where countless legendary tracks have been crafted — the session includes “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” “Lies Lies Lies,” “Sunrise,” “Everything I Love,” “I Wrote the Book,” “I Deserve a Drink,” and “Graveyard Whistling.”
Reflecting on the experience, Wallen shared, “Playing the O2 in London last fall and getting to record at Abbey Road, where so much iconic music has been made, was legendary for me and my band. We will never forget it. Releasing these ‘Abbey Road Sessions’ on the anniversary of ‘One Thing at a Time’ is my way of thanking my fans for making all this possible.”
