Country music star Morgan Wallen faces a lawsuit after canceling his Mississippi concert, as a disgruntled fan takes legal action against him. Court documents reveal that Brandi Burcham filed the federal lawsuit on Monday, accusing Wallen of breach of contract and negligence.
Burcham claims that Wallen abandoned his Sunday performance at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, citing a lost voice mere minutes before he was scheduled to appear on stage. Following the announcement on Instagram, large screens around the stadium displayed messages assuring the audience of full ticket refunds.
However, Burcham notes that the University of Mississippi, which organized the sold-out event, has yet to refund the ticketholders. Additionally, she argues that the promised refunds do not cover attendees’ “out-of-pocket expenses,” such as food, lodging, transportation, and other fees.
Burcham seeks to turn her lawsuit into a class action to include other fans affected by Wallen’s canceled performance during his “One Night at a Time Global Tour.” If the judge approves the class action, Burcham will likely be joined by other fans in the suit. Videos taken after the canceled concert show numerous upset adults leaving the venue, accompanied by their tearful children.
