Miley Cyrus is back — and she’s bringing the fire. Literally. After losing her Malibu home in the 2018 wildfires, the pop world’s favorite wrecking ball just dropped a new track for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the highly anticipated sequel that’s basically been 15 years in the making (thanks for keeping us waiting, James Cameron).
In a move only Miley could pull off, she’s turned heartbreak into high art. She says the song was inspired by “being rebuilt from the ashes,” which — let’s be real — is the most Miley thing ever. The track floats between orchestral swells and emotional gut punches, with her raspy powerhouse voice cutting through like smoke in a neon dream.
“Even through the flames, even through the ashes in the sky / Baby when we dream, we dream as one.”
Yeah, that’s right — Miley just wrote the next great post-apocalyptic wedding vow.
It’s poetic, cinematic, and hits with the kind of emotional punch you only get from someone who’s lived through hell and come out glowing. This is the same woman who gave us “Flowers” and casually took over the Billboard charts — so when she says “rebuilt,” believe her.
The Avatar: Fire and Ash soundtrack already feels like it’s going to melt faces and win hearts at the same time. Between Zoe Saldana’s blue tears, Sam Worthington’s jawline, and Miley’s voice echoing across Pandora, audiences are in for an emotional sci-fi fever dream.
Miley’s message is crystal clear: pain makes art, and ashes make anthems.
Honored to support Avatar: Fire and Ash with an original song I’ve written with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me. Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that… pic.twitter.com/OyHvzZJhXp
