Slated for release on August 25th, Miley Cyrus is set to share a fresh addition to her musical repertoire with the deeply personal track, “Used to Be Young”. Through an Instagram post, Miley took her fans on a journey back in time, revealing the contemplative lyrics of the song she penned nearly two years prior.
The caption on her post read, “During the inception of my ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ phase, I was at a point in life where I felt out of sync with the world. These words reflect that sentiment,” unveiling the chorus lyrics: “Time might have shifted me, alright / Been through wild rides, had my fun / Wasn’t always wise, had my sunlit days / All because I was once young.”
Delving deeper into her introspection, the pop icon expressed, “I’ve been painting my life’s soundscape for you all over the last year and a half. While I’ve finally reached a point to share this tune that I could tweak forever, it’s essence lies in its ongoing evolution. In a way, its continuous evolution mirrors my current life phase: a work in progress but wholly complete.”
