Skateboards, anxiety, and Blink-182’s wild ride—Mark Hoppus lays it all bare.
Mark Hoppus is hitting the road, but this time he’s swapping out arenas for bookstores and swapping mosh pits for… well, probably still some pop-punk chaos. The Blink-182 co-founder, bassist, and vocalist is taking his highly anticipated memoir, Fahrenheit-182, on tour, kicking off on April 9 in New York City and wrapping up in Los Angeles on April 20—because of course he’s ending the tour on 420.
The book, co-written with journalist Dan Ozzi, isn’t just a behind-the-scenes look at Blink’s meteoric rise—it’s a brutally honest, darkly funny deep dive into Hoppus’ life, from skateboarding in the California desert to selling out stadiums, beating cancer, and dealing with band breakups, mental health struggles, and existential dread. Basically, it’s Blink-182 lyrics in memoir form.
“This Book Has Everything”
In true Mark Hoppus fashion, the pop-punk legend promoted his book with a mix of humor and brutal honesty, saying:
“This book has everything: A young man, born in the California desert, joins a punk rock band and goes on to conquer the world! It’s got skateboarding! It’s got punk rock clubs! It’s got ’90s music! But that’s not all! Pre-order now and we’ll throw in with no extra cost to you: Anxiety! Depression! Band breakups! Loss of self! Suicidal thoughts and ideation! And of course everyone’s favorite: cancer! This shit gets dark.”
If that doesn’t make you want to buy it, do you even like music memoirs?
The Fahrenheit-182 Tour
For seven nights, Hoppus will sit down with a moderator and walk fans through his journey—probably with plenty of snark, self-deprecation, and a few Blink-182 tour stories that would make your parents clutch their pearls.
Here’s where you can catch him:
📍 April 9 – Brooklyn Paramount, New York, NY
📍 April 10 – Somerville Theatre, Somerville, MA
📍 April 12 – The 9:30 Club, Washington D.C.
📍 April 13 – The Fillmore, Philadelphia, PA
📍 April 16 – Park West, Chicago, IL
📍 April 18 – The Magnolia, El Cajon, CA
📍 April 20 – The Wiltern, Los Angeles, CA (seriously, 420? Classic Hoppus.)
Hoppus is Keeping Busy—And Selling Banksy?
While gearing up for the book tour, Hoppus has also been busy touring the world with Blink-182 following the release of their ninth studio album, One More Time…, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marked Tom DeLonge’s glorious return.
Oh, and he’s also auctioning off a rare Banksy painting that he’s owned since 2011. The artwork, going up for sale at Sotheby’s in London on March 4, is expected to fetch up to $6.3 million. So, you know, just casual rock star side hustles.
Final Thoughts: Pop-Punk Grows Up, But Never Gets Old
From Blink-182’s immature hijinks to surviving cancer and now putting his entire life story in print, Mark Hoppus proves that pop-punk may grow up, but it never really settles down. Whether you’re a lifelong Blink fan or just love a brutally honest rock memoir, Fahrenheit-182 is shaping up to be one hell of a read.
And honestly, if the tour doesn’t end with a pop-punk acoustic jam session, we’ll be a little disappointed.
