It seems trouble keeps finding its way into the life of artist Lil Wayne as he has decided to Plead Guilty to Federal Weapons Charge
In a bold move, the legal team of the famous rapper made a deal less than a month after Lil Wayne was charged with one count of possessing a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Wayne pleaded guilty to the federal charge Friday at a Florida court hearing. He was quoted as saying during the hearing
“Your honor, I plead guilty to the charge,” Lil Wayne AKA Dwayne Michael Carter told the Southern District of Florida federal district court judge via remote video. Carter’s latest arrest came almost 12 months after he was found in possession of the gold-plated handgun at a Miami-area airport in December 2019.
It seems money can get you out of just about anything these days and due to the pleas deal it most likely will do the same this time
Carter’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 28th, 2021. The rapper, currently out on bail, faces up to 10 years in federal prison from the charge, but given that Carter’s lawyers and federal prosecutors worked out a guilty plea and it’s unlikely he will do any jail time. Guess the rich get richer these days. Let’s hope he’s learned a valuable lesson.
Then again with a gangster-type lifestyle, it makes sense to carry a weapon if he’s just trying to pro text himself. We are guessing he can afford more than one bodyguard.
