In a recent turn of events, Kid Rock has announced his renewed support for Bud Light, eight months after his highly publicized boycott of the brand. This initial boycott stemmed from Anheuser-Busch’s partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney for a promotional campaign.
Reflecting on the situation in a candid discussion with Tucker Carlson, Kid Rock expressed his changed stance. “Looking at the bigger picture, they deserved some backlash for their actions, and they certainly felt it. But, I don’t believe in punishing them indefinitely for a single mistake,” he stated. “It’s time to move forward, and hopefully, this serves as a learning curve for other companies too.”
Kid Rock further emphasized the importance of forgiveness and moving on, saying, “A stern warning is necessary at times, but it shouldn’t last forever. I’m ready to support Bud Light again and look towards a future that aligns with the values of the America I believe in.”
The controversy began in April when Kid Rock publicly denounced Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch in a viral video, where he symbolically shot at Bud Light cases while wearing a MAGA hat. Anheuser-Busch, in response to the outcry, clarified that their collaboration with Mulvaney was part of a broader influencer strategy and the commemorative can was a unique, not-for-sale item marking a personal milestone.
Despite his initial stance, CNN reported in July that Kid Rock’s Nashville restaurant continued to serve Bud Light. Additionally, TMZ spotted him enjoying the brand at a Colt Ford concert in Nashville in August.
