Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) has revealed the date and venue for their final live performance. After a 55-year career of chart-topping hits and groundbreaking tours, the iconic band will say goodbye to their fans at a special farewell concert on July 13, 2025, at London’s famous Hyde Park. The gig will be part of the BST Summertime festival, known for its series of high-profile shows.
Reflecting on the choice of location, bandleader Jeff Lynne shared in a statement, “My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans. As the song goes, ‘we’re gonna do it One More Time!’”
Tickets for the event will go on sale on October 25, 2024, and fans are encouraged to act quickly as the show is expected to sell out. The lineup will also feature a range of special guests, with more details to come soon.
ELO is currently wrapping up their “Over and Out” US tour, which will conclude with two shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. With a career spanning five decades, the band has consistently delivered timeless classics like “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Mr. Blue Sky,” and “Evil Woman.”
As a major influence on the British rock scene since their formation in 1970, ELO has enjoyed tremendous success, with five Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200 and six Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Their legacy was further cemented when 1977’s Out of the Blue achieved platinum status, and their music continues to inspire generations of fans around the world.
BST Summertime 2025 will not only celebrate ELO’s final performance but will also honor the group’s 30-year connection to Hyde Park, having performed their first festival show there in the 1990s. Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, praised the band, stating, “Jeff Lynne’s ELO are loved the world over. The live shows are nothing short of extraordinary, and a testament to the incredible catalog of hits we’ve enjoyed for over 50 years.”
Fans will undoubtedly be eager to join ELO for one final celebration of a musical legacy that has spanned over five decades.
