HAIM Teases Stevie Nicks Collab That’s “For Something,” and Honestly, It Better Be Worthy of Her Witchy Greatness

By Static Live Magazine – Because someone has to say what you’re thinking (but with eyeliner and guitar feedback).

So here’s the deal: HAIM—you know, the indie trio who write beautiful songs that mostly live on NPR playlists—just confirmed that their collab with Stevie Nicks is real. It exists. It’s a thing. But of course, they can’t tell us what it’s for, only that it’s not on their upcoming album I Quit.

Cool.

The sisters appeared on Watch What Happens Live this week with human wine glass Andy Cohen, and dropped the confirmation during a fan Q&A.

“Stevie Nicks is the greatest human being on this planet,” said Alana Haim, with the kind of hushed awe normally reserved for discovering David Bowie in a Whole Foods.

And while we absolutely agree—because Stevie Nicks is THE mystical, leather-draped queen of rock and roll—we were kind of hoping for more than cryptic half-sentences and awkward jokes about The Smurfs Movie. (Yes, that was actually said. Yes, we cringed.)

Let’s be clear: HAIM should be honored to breathe the same studio air as Stevie. She is a once-in-a-generation songwriter, performer, and feathered-hair icon who helped define an entire era of music and moonlight. These girls better come correct.

The unnamed track, according to HAIM, isn’t on their fourth studio album I Quit, which drops sometime later this year (no official release date yet—because suspense, I guess?). Instead, it’s being reserved for “something.” Which is either a secret soundtrack, an awards bait film, or maybe some black-and-white arthouse TikTok.

Despite the mystery, we’ll give them this: if it does drop, we’ll listen. And if it includes even a whisper of that Stevie magic, it’ll probably end up better than most of the alt-pop wallpaper released this year.

As for their new single “Relationships”? Apparently it’s been marinating for seven years, and we do respect the commitment. According to Danielle Haim, it was written on a plane between Melbourne and Sydney, and rejected by industry folks who “didn’t get it.” So, the band pulled a punk move and waited until the world was ready—or at least until they ran out of studio voicemails.

The song finally found its place on I Quit, which they produced alongside indie golden boy Rostam Batmanglij (because of course they did). They’re calling the record their most personal yet, which in music-speak usually means “fewer filters and more feelings.”

Will it rock? Time will tell. But if the Stevie collab doesn’t surface soon, we might just hold a séance ourselves.
