Guns N’ Roses fans, grab your patience (and maybe a walker, depending on how long you’ve been waiting) — Slash has officially said the words: a new album is coming.
That’s right. The top-hatted shred lord told Guitar World that GN’R has a mountain of material stacked higher than Axl’s vocal range circa 1987. The only thing missing? “The discipline to sit down and f****** get into it.” Translation: it’ll happen when it happens. Classic Guns.
Slash added:
“With Guns, you can never plan ahead. Every time we’ve tried, it falls apart. It just happens when inspiration hits.”
In other words, the band that gave us “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Welcome to the Jungle” still makes records the same way you lose your keys: pure chaos.
How Old Are These Rock Soldiers Anyway?
Before we complain too much, let’s respect the fact that these guys are still alive, touring, and somehow shredding harder than most kids on TikTok.
- Axl Rose – 63 (still sprinting across stadium stages like a man half his age, though sometimes it’s more of a power shuffle)
- Slash – 60 (proving once and for all that leather, cigarettes, and Les Pauls preserve the body better than kale smoothies)
- Duff McKagan – 61 (the most punk-rock grandpa you’ll ever see)
- Dizzy Reed – 62 (tickling the keys like fine wine aging in a Steinway barrel)
They’re basically the Rolling Stones’ slightly younger cousins, which means if you’re waiting on that record, you might want to set a reminder for “before retirement home karaoke takes over.”
A Little History Lesson (Because Rock Gods Earn It)
The band hasn’t dropped a full album since Chinese Democracy in 2008 (a release that took longer than most marriages). Slash and Duff weren’t even on that one — their last full record together was 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident? (yes, the question mark is part of the title, and yes, that’s peak Guns).
Since then, they’ve tossed out a handful of tracks like “Absurd,” “Hard Skool,” “Perhaps,” and “The General,” all leftovers from the Chinese Democracy sessions. Think of it as Guns N’ Roses reheating the lasagna, but hey — it still tastes good when you’re drunk at 3 a.m.
Still Rocking the Planet
If you think age has slowed them down, think again. GN’R kicked off their 2025 world tour in Saudi Arabia, smashed through Wembley Stadium for the first time since 1992, and continue to prove why they’re one of the most dangerous bands to ever plug in.
Sure, longtime drummer Frank Ferrer exited stage left after nearly two decades, but now AWOLNATION’s Isaac Carpenter is behind the kit. The current lineup still feels like a circus of chaos and talent: Axl, Slash, Duff, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Melissa Reese, and Carpenter.
Slash swears new music is “coming.” No timeline. No details. No Amazon preorder. Just a promise. And for Guns fans? That’s more than enough to keep the flame burning.
So crank “Paradise City,” hold tight, and maybe circle a random year on your calendar. You’ll probably be right.
And while you’re waiting, don’t forget to download the Static Live Music Calendar App — serving Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Ormond, and Flagler… with plans to crash even more cities soon. 🤘
