Former Backstreet Boy and O-Town guitarist, producer/songwriter, Billy Chapin, is diving into the EDM/Dance world…again with Honduran DJ/producer, Edwin and the release of Edwin’s first single “Day and Night”. The single released August 27 through ECTone Records/AWAL to all digital music outlets worldwide including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
Chapin had success in 1999 with 2 hit dance singles, “Over and Over” and “Is This for Real” with Canadian artist Emjay. “Over and Over” was nominated in 2000 for a Juno award for Best Dance Recording.
Chapin was tapped to develop and manage Edwin’s project. He brought on board EDM innovator, songwriter, producer, John Debo. New York born and Boston-bred, Debo is undoubtedly a pioneer of underground dance music culture. His club nights at Venus De Milo, Axis & Avalon in Boston, carry legendary status, having laid a strong foundation for the now flourishing electronic music scene in the USA. “We are super excited to work with this young, talented artist and are looking to release multiple singles over the next year” says Chapin.
The Grammy, Juno and Dove nominated musician, former label owner at Dreamworks and songwriter for Warner Chappell, has a diverse music history. “I don’t limit myself to a genre, it’s all just music” says the veteran producer/songwriter who along with Backstreet and O-Town, has worked with such artist’s as Don Henley, Sister Hazel, Edwin McCain, Jordan Knight and Jim Sonefeld. Chapin recently finished producing and mixing a project for LA punk label, PoshBoy. Chapin has a number of music projects in the works and is currently writing a book on his journey in the Boyband world.
