Preparing for the inevitable, pop icon Ed Sheeran recently disclosed an intriguing detail about his home – he has designated a gravesite for himself in his backyard.
In his conversation with GQ, Ed clarified that it’s not precisely a crypt, but rather an area that also serves as a chapel. This space has witnessed several of his friends tying the knot. Expanding on the theme of his backyard burial spot, the “Shape of You” singer commented, “It’s a simple dugout with a stone slab over it. It’s there for the time when I’m gone. Some find it morbid, but witnessing friends pass without a will made me think ahead.”
Amidst this profound revelation, Ed is celebrating the recent launch of his album, “Autumn Variations,” which was unveiled under his label, Gingerbread Man Records on September 29th. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the album, Ed shared, “The past fall season was a period of immense transition for my friends and me. From moments of clarity and resolution to turmoil and chaos, everything was intensified after the summer. Songwriting became my therapy, helping me navigate my emotions and those of my friends. The album embodies a mix of emotions, ranging from love’s exhilaration to the depths of heartache and despair.”
This album is a successor to Sheeran’s “Subtract,” which made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart earlier in the year.
