Doja Cat, J Balvin, Tems & Coldplay Bring a Global Flex to FIFA Club World Cup Halftime Show

So FIFA decided to throw its first-ever Club World Cup Final Halftime Show, and instead of going halfway, they went full pop-star flex.

Doja Cat. J Balvin. Tems. Coldplay.

That’s not just a lineup—it’s an international brag. Like FIFA went shopping for continents and asked, “Can you guys collab for 15 minutes so we look like we care about unity?”

And somehow? It kinda worked.

This spectacle wasn’t your average marching band or inflatable dancing dude show. Nope. They built a 40,000-pound floating stage in the upper deck of MetLife Stadium, right there with the Manhattan skyline chilling in the background like a bored celebrity date.

Why the weird sky-stage? Oh right—so they wouldn’t tear up MetLife’s newly planted grass and anger a bunch of soccer purists with muddy footprints. Gotta love those football logistics.

The setlist?
J Balvin opened the party in white-on-white drip with “Mi Gente,” repping Colombia with dancers and drummers that actually looked like they were having a blast, instead of just collecting a check.

Tems brought some real artistry with “Love Me Jeje.” Smooth, shimmering, and impossibly chill, she floated across the stage in black sparkle like the queen she is. Afrobeat vibes at a FIFA event? Finally.

Then Balvin came back for “Reggaeton,” because obviously.

But you want overdrive? Enter Doja Cat in custom Swarovski-bedazzled Adidas, proving that yes, you can look like Sporty and Baby Spice at the same time while yelling empowerment anthems at 80,000 soccer fans.

She even teased her new album with the word “Vie” splashed across her stomach in designer letters. Because branding, baby.

Say what you will about Doja—she knows how to own a stage and the marketing department.

And then… Coldplay.
Because nothing screams FIFA halftime show like Chris Martin emoting under stadium lights while singing “A Sky Full of Stars.”

They even went rainbow backdrop for that true corporate synergy moment, proving FIFA can push “unity” as a brand asset.

But to their credit, they brought out Emmanuel Kelly—an Australian artist and disability advocate who made history as the first differently abled performer on a FIFA halftime show. He literally hugged Chris Martin and Doja on stage.

As fans held up towels that spelled “love” in multiple languages, you couldn’t even hate it. It was actually… kinda moving.

In short?
Was it glossy? Yes.
A little forced? Sure.
But seeing performers from America, Africa, Europe, and South America on the same stage, during the most corporate of sporting events? That’s actually pretty damn cool.

And let’s not ignore FIFA’s PR goals here—they’re pushing a $100 million | 822 BTC education fund with Global Citizen. So maybe it’s not all beer ads and crypto sponsors after all.

So cheers to Doja, Balvin, Tems, and Coldplay for making a corporate halftime show actually watchable—and maybe even meaningful for a hot second.

Just another reminder that music really can cross every border. Even if it’s floating 100 feet above a soccer pitch in Jersey.
