Singer Bebe Rexha is receiving an outpouring of love and support from fellow stars after a fan threw a mobile device at her during a live performance, causing a facial injury. The incident occurred on stage at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City and led to Rexha’s emergency hospital visit on Sunday, June 18th.
Footage making the rounds on social media depicts the distressing moment when Rexha collapsed after being hit by the phone. On Monday, June 19, Rexha updated fans on her condition by sharing photos of her injury on Instagram and assured them she was recovering, captioning the post with, “I’m good.”
Upon hearing the news and seeing the unsettling images, numerous celebrities expressed their empathy and dismay. Demi Lovato reached out to the injured star, saying, “Love you, girl… I’m so sorry this happened to you,” along with a heartbroken emoji.
TV star John Stamos also extended his support, criticizing the incident: “This is 100% messed up! I hope you’re okay, Bebe, xo.”
Hayley Kiyoko and Lauren Jauregui expressed their shock and concern, with Kiyoko stating, “Literally wtf nobody should be throwing stuff, that makes me so upset. Following the incident, NYPD officers apprehended 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna at the scene, charging him with a felony for using the phone as a weapon.
