The 44th annual ‘A Capitol Fourth’ concert is set to dazzle audiences once again from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol this July 4th. This year’s lineup boasts an array of talented performers including musical legends Smokey Robinson and Fantasia, actor and singer Darren Criss, dynamic performer Sheila E., energetic group Fitz and The Tantrums, pianist Chloe Flower, and the iconic Sister Sledge featuring Sledgendary.
Adding to the star power, Loren Allred and Britt Stewart will grace the stage, while the renowned Maestro Jack Everly will lead the National Symphony Orchestra in a performance that promises to captivate. Hosting this year’s event is none other than television favorite Alfonso Ribeiro, who expressed his enthusiasm about leading the festivities: “It’s a privilege to host A Capitol Fourth again. We’re ready to throw a memorable 4th of July party that will have everyone, both at the venue and watching at home, dancing and celebrating!”
The evening will also include a special tribute to Team USA, hosted by Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson East. This segment will honor American athletes heading to the Olympic Games in Paris, highlighted by a performance of John Williams’ “Olympic Fanfare,” composed for the 1984 Summer Olympics.
The celebration concludes with a breathtaking fireworks display orchestrated by the National Park Service, illuminating the sky over the National Mall and Washington, D.C. skyline.
