In a candid conversation with Dua Lipa on the ‘At Your Service’ podcast, Eilish exclaimed how Del Rey’s masterpiece altered the course for female artists in the industry.
“Lana’s ‘Born to Die’ was a pivotal moment in music, particularly for female artists. It redefined boundaries and potential,” expressed Eilish, admiring Del Rey, the esteemed Visionary Honoree at Billboard’s Women in Music 2023.
Not stopping there, the Grammy magnet also spotlighted other monumental works that left an indelible mark on her, including Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ and ‘Journals’, Childish Gambino’s ‘Because The Internet’, and ‘Wiped Out!’ by Jesse Rutherford’s band, The Neighbourhood.
Both Eilish and Lipa recently graced the soundtrack of the hit film ‘Barbie’ by Greta Gerwig. Their respective tracks, “What Was I Made For?” and “Dance The Night”, even went head-to-head in the UK charts.
